A different kind of post...

Some of you know my brother...some of you do not.

This is him and his fiance, and they are getting married September 15th.  In fact, I was just out shopping with his fiance yesterday for her wedding dress, and we had a blast.  She found the perfect dress, and we are all excited about the wedding....there's just one (mighty big) issue.

My brother is 29 years old and 2 1/2 years he had a heart attack and triple bypass surgery.  Thanks to some amazing doctors, he came through it well.  But, his kidneys did not...a year later we discovered that his kidney's had basically shrunk down to a non-existent state, and he was put on dialysis.  He has gone through a very rough time of trying out different ways to dialyze, and been through countless surgeries.  And yet, we are still far from where he needs to be.  He was scheduled to have a transplant a few weeks ago....everyone was ecstatic...but a week before the transplant was due to occur, some health issues with the donor were discovered and the surgery was cancelled.  Back to the dialysis he went, and now we wait and pray some more.  A fund has been set up for Daniel, because after the expensive surgery, he will need anti-rejection drugs for the rest of his life...and those are beyond expensive.

If you are interested in donating monetarily, please visit his blog at Daniel Needs a Kidney.  Or, if you are interested in being tested as a kidney donor, please visit the site as well and check it out, do further research on how many people out there are in need of a kidney, or just pray, pray, pray.  We know miraculous things do happen...but our hope is waning, and the sooner Daniel can get the transplant, the better quality of life he will live.  Time is of the essence here, so I ask that you carefully considering helping in any way possible.  Many thanks.
