There's Arsenic in my Juice???

I came across this article that a friend had posted on Facebook this morning....and although it doesn't really surprise me, it is scary.  The FDA seems to be getting itself into more and more trouble these days...

You can read the full article HERE, but basically it talks about how Consumer Reports ran a series of test recently on boxed and bottles juices that most every kid (and adult) may drink on a daily basis.  Toxic levels of arsenic were found in the samples, although the FDA doesn't want to concede that is something they tend ot overlook...although they test water, they do not test juices.

The article refers to the study done by Dr Oz a few months ago, and it also mentions the difference between the 2 types of arsenic that can be organic non-toxic version, and then the toxic version.  The FDA's response to Dr. Oz was that all the aresnic he found was of the non-toxic kind....what they found in this study was different, which is why this article holds a little more validity.  (Sorry Dr.Oz, I really do love you still).

Anyway, I think the moral of this story is to look at ingredients on labels and know what you are feeding your kids (and yourself, for that matter!).  Not that the term "aresenic" can be found on the label...but the more ingredients there are, the more likely it is that there are other chemicals and such found in the food/drink.
